This project has received funding from the Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 745586

BioBarr Project (“New Bio-based Food Packaging Materials with Enhanced Barrier Properties”) was born under the Horizon 2020 Program of the European Commission and the Bio-Based Industries Public-Private Partnership.

Improved properties

Improved mechanical and/or functional properties, which guarantee its resistance and reliability along the producing cycle and during storage and distribution

Eco-friendly

It is eco-friendly (bio-based material, biodegradable)

New material

This new material will extend, at least, the shelf life of packaged product by 10%.

Reduction of costs

Reduction of costs, as compared to on-market materials, mainly due to the low energy demanding and low costs of production of the new bio-based material proposed by the project.
